 The
Next Steps course was fabulous! I don't think people take enough
time in their life to look at themselves, what they want out of
life, what they are about in life or how they are perceived. This
course provides a process and methodology to do just that.
It also allows you the time in the course to do
the activity and really take those steps towards defining who you
want to be, and what you want to be known for. I think any course
that brings the material and the actions back to the individual
are great!
Especially during these times of change and reinvention
we are constantly needing to stay on top of the change, while
constantly reinventing ourselves. This course provides the tools
to do that.
I felt that the course changed the way I do life
and business...This class taught me about removing the personal,
looking at others as well intended individuals, and focusing on
what I could change ME. I'll continue to use these tools
the rest of my life both personally and professionally. Awesome
experience!

Great, great, great!
Workshop was a "real" work-shop!
It was outstanding!
This is not training, It's a powerful intervention
for people at a crossroads.
What positive results do you see now and anticipate
for the future having participated in Next Steps?
A renewed energy for my role in HPC, currently.
As for the future, the sky's the limit!
Increased self-awareness and self confidence in
my uniqueness.
Gave me an approach for selling (and packaging)
my ideas.
Clearer sense of self, strengths.
I can immediately apply [what I learned] to my
relocation/repositioning of my job within HPC.
How would you describe the value to others?
Absolutely beneficial to others. If everyone could
get only one thing from this class, imagine the shift it would create!
Helps make career self-reliance more real, actionable.
Helped me clarify my value and how to apply it at work and home.
Value to everyone as we need to reinvent ourselves
in a changing organization.
Excellent value personally and professionally.
Useful for people not coping well with organizational
changes AND for high performers who are getting frustrated. Promotes
self-efficacy and personal responsibility.
This is really BIG stuff!! Great Stuff! A little
bit every day, I'm going to start integrating it today.
 I
have a subordinate who's often 'negative.' But I realized I'm often
waiting or watching for this person's mistakes and attitude problems.
Instead I started 'expecting the best' and managed the issues not
the person. I saw immediate improvement !!

 I
took this course 3 years ago and it enhanced my entire life. I am
doing volunteer work now that is incredibly fulfilling, I bring
to my job greater creativity and passion, and I am on a career track
that is highly obtainable and sustainable. I think any department
would benefit by having it's managers go through this process. I
attended this series in the spring of 1997 and I am still using
the information I learned, still using the workbooks provided, still
motivated and inspired by and taking action on the things I discovered
about myself 3 years later! No other class has ever done
that for me.

 For
me the transition's been internal. I'm surprised to learn that the
best job for me is the one I already have. By taking the time to
identify what I do want (rather than what I don't want) and by gaining
knowledge of my skills and passions, I discovered that I would choose
what I have! What is different is my perception and understanding
of who I am, and of how my current job complements that. Just having
options freed me to appreciate what I have.

 The
Next-Steps Coaching Series helped me to take a lot of high-level
ideas about what I wanted to do in life and bring them to a place
where I specifically defined what I wanted to do. And then, most
importantly, it helped me develop a specific plan of action to make
the goal a reality. It helped me to move from 'wishing for someday
to come' to 'what can I do today to move me towards my goal?'

Steps has given me hope and courage to find the ultimate dream job
within my own company. It is difficult to take the time out of our
lives to figure out what we should be doing with them.Through the
7 step process I realized that I'm the only one that can make my
life the way I want it and I took those steps to change. I am now
more satisfied in a job where my own contributions are well used
and benefiting the company.

 The
On Your Mark workshop came at a timely point in my life; I suddenly
found myself in a new job with a huge learning curve. It helped
me realize that I'm capable of achieving anything I want as long
as I approach my challenges with the right tools and mindset. I've
appreciated the support, coaching and the opportunity to give myself
the encouragement I need to realize my own potential.

 I
suddenly realized that I had reached a point in my career where
I would no longer simply be "discovered" by a more senior manager
and pulled up and out to a new job. Advancing my career would now
require me to articulate my value to others not just to demonstrate
my value...[Next Steps] taught me the real meaning of 'responsive,'
rather than reacting to the next opportunity that came along, I
could create opportunity in line with clarifying my own goals, objectives,
skills, aptitudes, and personal values.
When you consider that most opportunities that
come to us are from external sources, this course is an excellent
retention tool as well as productivity improvement tool.
Imagine the productivity if every employee could clearly see how
they can be on a path toward living their dream.

 When
I signed up for this class, I thought I might get some interesting
ideas about possible job options. Instead, I found myself doing
some major soul-searching that helped me understand it wasn't a
job I wanted, I wanted to enjoy my work, whatever it was. [Next
Steps] caused me to reassess what made me happy, and what didn't
I was surprised to find that the reason my 'dream' job was
making me miserable was that I wasn't exercising the parts of myself
that made life fun. This learning was worth the price of admission,
and has caused me to seriously reevaluate my career strategies going
forward.
